Исследование, проводимое на любой клинической базе, могут прекратить, если исследователь не может обеспечить включение пациентов в исследование с необходимой скоростью или не набирает пациентов вообще. В такой ситуации полученные от компании исследуемые препараты после проверки качества могут быть переданы в другие центры. Кроме того, исследование может быть прекращено, если новые исследования токсичности на животных или дополнительный клинический опыт показали, что препарат слишком токсичен для предлагаемого применения (т.е. отношение “риск/ польза” слишком высокое).
